Summary:
ZIP code 08817 has six elementary schools, all in Edison Township School District: five serve K–5 and have results for grades 3–5, while Edison Early Learning Center serves PK–K. In 2025–2026, the five tested schools’ average results were above same-grade state averages in ELA, math and grade 5 science, but those area-wide averages do not describe every school equally well. The most important finding for families is that results vary substantially from one school to another.
Lincoln Elementary School was the clearest overall standout, averaging 69% in ELA, 62% in math and 50% in science—20, 15 and 22 percentage points above the respective state averages. At the other end, Lindeneau Elementary School averaged 45% in ELA, 45% in math and 12% in science; its ELA and math averages were slightly below the state, and its science result was substantially lower. The school-average spread was 24 points in ELA, 18 in math and 38 in science. Leaders also varied by grade: Lincoln led ELA in grades 3–5 and grade 5 math, while John Marshall Elementary School led grade 3 math and Washington Elementary School led grade 4 math.
Across the two years supplied, the five-school ELA average rose from 54% to 55%, and its advantage over the state grew from 4 to 6 points. Math stayed near 54%, with its state advantage barely changing (7.3 to 7.2 points); science fell from 34% to 31%, and its advantage narrowed from 4.3 to 4.0 points. School trends differed: Lindeneau improved by 6 points in ELA and 5 in math but fell 8 in science, while Lincoln declined by 1, 5 and 2 points, respectively. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile rankings rose from 78 to 79 for Lincoln and from 31 to 41 for Lindeneau; these rankings are not test-score percentages. In 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible shares ranged from 23% at Lincoln to 65% at Lindeneau. Lincoln also had the highest student-teacher ratio among the tested schools, 14.7, while Lindeneau had the lowest, 10.9; these figures offer context, not explanations for test results.
