As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school is being sued by a parent for breach of duty of care, as the result of the failure of its staff to protect Tristan Peterson, who took his own life at the age of 12 years, following a campaign by his peers of relentless bullying, intimidation, violence and harrassment.

Surveys conducted by GLSEN indicate that over 87% of LGBT+ students have their lives seriously impacted by school bullying, which school staff do nothing to address, indeed oftentimes staff themselves mock LGBT+ students. This can drive such students into extreme isolation, if they are not out to their parents, who may also reject them. With no support from their peers, their school, their church or their family, LGBT+ teenagers too often seek refuge in suicide. While this is celebrated by their bullies, it certainly isn't by Peterson's mother.

Education is supposed to provide for the future of our children, not drive them to suicide. Those who survive their "education" are lucky to be able to work and many leave school as soon as they turn of age, unqualified, with concomitant loss in future earnings, and the possibility of being a state dependant if they are driven to mental illness.

LGBT+ children do not choose to be gay, and they certainly do not choose to be abused merely for existing. It's time schools changed their "boys will be boys" attitudes and put themselves in the position of parents who in good faith, send their children to school in the mistaken belief that they will be safe. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
