As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My child enroll in the special education program with Wallace. The program was not bad 3 years ago but was getting worse and worse. The current director of special service is heartless about those kids and keep reducing service. He also take advantage of a fact that a lot of parents don't know or are not familiar with education law or IEP process. They also retaliate parents who speak up or advocate for their children. Stay away from this school. One star is for the kids and teachers/para who work there Close Quote

Open Quote Mr. Fitzhugh is the new assistant superintendent. He surely used poor judgement to create this summer homework assignment for all grades, and left many parents furious. We had to deal with missing pages from the summer packets and confusing requirements. On top of that, parents of 3rd and 4th graders had to teach their kids about World War 2, Holocaust and extermination camps (hello, these subjects are taught in middle school!) while they read books who were not age-appropriate. "Anne Frank Remembered" in 4th grade? Don't even get me started about the requirements for kindergarten kids. Very unhappy! Close Quote

Open Quote I have two children who attend Wallace elementary school. Both are doing excellent academically and socially. They are continuously challenged and enriched in their classes, the gifted and talented program and afterschool Passport to Learning program. Both love Wallace and have enormous pride in their school and have excellent and supportive teachers.

Our new Wallace school administrators Principal Shannon and Vice Principal Bartlett are smart strong leaders. When Mr. Shannon and Mr. Bartlett came to Wallace, within 6 months they made a huge positive impact on our school academically and operationally. We have witnessed the countless hours they work and the dedication and passion they have for our children’s social and academic well-being and safety. They both continue to build a strong environment of academic excellence and a feeling of family for our school community. In addition our new superintendent is amazing and continues to strengthen our schools thru innovative programs and improvements throughout the schools. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
