Henniker Community School is a public school in the small town of Henniker, New Hampshire, serving about 402 students in prekindergarten through eighth grade through the Henniker School District. Its combination of elementary and middle-school grades gives families a continuous school experience through eighth grade. The school currently ranks 68th out of 230 New Hampshire schools, placing it around the top 30% statewide, although the district ranks lower overall.

The school’s recent progress is its most encouraging feature. Its ranking rose from the 26th percentile in 2023–24 to the 70th percentile in 2025–26, while proficiency increased to 48% in math, 53% in reading, and 34% in science. Math is now four points above the state average, and the school’s student-teacher ratio is a favorable 11.3-to-1. Results are strongest in grades 3–6: students in these grades generally meet or exceed state averages in math and reading, with especially strong third- and fourth-grade math scores. Henniker compares favorably with most nearby schools, including Pierce Elementary School, Webster Elementary School, and Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School. However, Dunbarton Elementary School and especially Simonds Elementary School report stronger results, though both serve fewer grades and, in Simonds’ case, substantially fewer students.
