Lin-Wood Public School (High) is the only high school in the Lincoln-Woodstock Cooperative School District, serving grades 9–12 in the small Lincoln, New Hampshire area with 82 students.
For parents, the school’s strongest results are its student-completion measures: the reported graduation rate is 100%, compared with 87% statewide, and the dropout rate is 0%. Its 7.3-to-1 student-teacher ratio is also notably favorable and may allow for smaller classes and more individualized support. Academic results are mixed, however. In 2025–2026, 38% of students were proficient in reading and 31% in science, compared with 55% and 38% statewide. Science was the school’s strongest area relative to both the district and state. Reading improved by 11 percentage points from the prior year, while science rose by 13 points.
Mathematics is the clearest area of concern. Only 15% of students were proficient in NH SAS mathematics, down from 27% the previous year and well below the district’s 45% and the state’s 44%. Eleventh-grade SAT results showed a similar pattern: 15% proficiency in mathematics and 38% in reading, compared with 30% and 62% statewide. The school’s recent ranking history also places it below the middle of the comparison group, although changing comparison groups make exact year-to-year comparisons difficult. Because the school is very small, results can shift significantly when only a few students perform differently from one year to the next. Overall, Lin-Wood offers a small-school setting with excellent graduation and attendance-through-completion outcomes, but families should pay particular attention to mathematics support and the school’s progress on academic proficiency over several years.
