Marshville Elementary, a PK–5 school serving 419 students in Marshville, NC, has become one of the stronger high-poverty elementary schools in its region, ranking in the 72nd percentile statewide for 2025-26. The school is part of Union County Public Schools, which ranks 43rd out of 246 districts in North Carolina, and nearly all of its students (98.3%) qualify for free/reduced lunch. That makes its steady climb especially notable: Marshville rose from the 50th percentile in 2024-25 to the 72nd percentile this year, continuing upward momentum from a 19th-percentile ranking back in 2015-16.
