As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote 'The blind leading the blind'. If you're ever wondering where'd all these idiots came from, it's our public schools. This one in particular has a second grade teacher who failed to teach my child, a teacher's assistant who allowed my 7-year-old to go outside for recess without her coat, in a short sleeve shirt, on a 38-39° day. They also have a policy to NOT inform parents when their child is to be taken out of class by a tutor and taken BEHIND CLOSED DOORS AND ALONE with this tutor! In addition, the vice principal sends emails which are ungrammedical and hardly legible. I pulled my child out of this public school for the betterment of her education, her safety and well-being and the fact that they don't deserve the over $10,000 per pupil they were receiving for her being a student there. I highly recommend ALL other parents do the same. Close Quote

Open Quote We have been extremely happy with our daughter's experience at ORE! She started Kindergarten in the fall and she was very young (turned 5 on the second day of school). We worried if she was ready and considered holding her back but after much soul searching, we decided to go ahead and let her start. The teachers and administration are simply outstanding. Our daughter has grown so much academically and socially. We originally purchased our home in Oak Ridge before we had children knowing that ORE had an excellent reputation. They have not disappointed. Would recommend this school to anyone moving to the Piedmont Triad area. The only reservation I have is that they could do more when it comes to safety. From the first time I had to pick my daughter up early in the office, they have never once asked for my identification. I do have to "sign" her out but they've never asked who I am or checked to be sure that I am authorized to pick her up. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
