Friedberg Elementary is a mid-sized public school serving about 468 students in grades PK-5 within Davidson County Schools; despite its Winston Salem mailing address, it is not part of Winston Salem / Forsyth County Schools but sits just across the county line from several Forsyth County elementaries.

Friedberg has historically been a strong school, ranking between the 72nd and 88th percentiles statewide from 2015-16 through 2024-25 and earning 4 stars in nearly every reported year. Clemmons Elementary is the standout exception, ranking well above Friedberg. The school's Gifted and Talented students remain a bright spot at the 81st percentile, and given the broad, schoolwide nature of this year's decline, Friedberg is worth watching closely next year.
