Moyock Elementary serves 740 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in the coastal community of Moyock, North Carolina, and is part of Currituck County Schools, a district ranked in the 80th percentile statewide. The school's most recent state ranking places it at 484th out of roughly 1,492 North Carolina elementary schools, a solid mid-tier result at the 68th percentile but a noticeable step back from its 85th-percentile peak in 2023-24.

Moyock Elementary is the largest elementary school in the immediate area and operates differently from its neighbors: its student-teacher ratio of 20.7 is much higher than Shawboro Elementary School's 16.0, Camden Intermediate's 15.9, or tiny Knotts Island Elementary's 13.0. After 2 years of teachers who have accused children of lying before checking the facts and humiliating my child who by the way had excellent behavior daily, I have decided to homeschool my child this year. This past year the teacher never encouraged the kids only told them what they did wrong. I have complained in the past but nothing was done. Close Quote
