Schools from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools like Reedy Creek Elementary and University Meadows Elementary, plus area charter A.C.E. Academy, also trail Harrisburg by wide margins.

What truly sets Harrisburg apart is that strong results extend across all student subgroups. African American students rank in the 97th percentile statewide, low-income students in the 94th, English Language Learners in the 98th, and special education students also score well above average. Chronic absenteeism sits at just 8.7%, roughly one-third of the state's 24.2% rate, and the school achieves these outcomes while spending less per student than several neighboring schools. With elite academics, excellent attendance, and broad-based success across every group of students, Harrisburg Elementary is one of the most impressive elementary schools in the greater Charlotte area.

Open Quote Harrisburg has very committed teachers that are willing to do all that they can to help to advance all students based on individual student needs. There are not many schools that have the resources to cater to more advanced students and push them even farther, but Harrisburg does. I am proud to be both a parent and a teacher at the school.
