Summary

Youngsville Academy is a K-12 charter school in Youngsville, NC, serving about 615 students and operating as its own district, making it the smallest of the local K-12 academies in the area. The school's clear signature strength is reading: in 2025-2026, every grade level from 3rd through 8th scored at least 17 points above the state average, with an average reading proficiency of about 75.7% compared to the statewide 56%. Only Franklin Academy posts stronger reading results among nearby peers, while Henderson Collegiate is essentially tied. Attendance is another standout: just 5.3% of students are chronically absent, far better than the 24.2% statewide average and much lower than several nearby academies.

Math is more of a mixed picture. Overall, Youngsville's math proficiency (64.3%) is slightly above the state (59.9%), but it is the lowest among all nearby comparison schools, including Wake Preparatory Academy, Falls Lake Academy, East Wake Academy, Henderson Collegiate, and Franklin Academy. The biggest concern is early elementary math: only 54.4% of 3rd graders and 51.6% of 4th graders are proficient, both below state averages. By middle school, though, scores climb well above state levels. High school results also point to a gap worth attention: biology (100% proficient) and Math III (97.1%) are outstanding, but English II proficiency is just 68.3%, the lowest among nearby schools and a curious contrast to the school's excellent reading scores in grades 3-8.

For parents, Youngsville Academy offers a strong, consistent literacy program and an unusually engaged student body that shows up to class. If your child is entering the early elementary grades and needs extra math support, it is worth asking how the school addresses those foundational skills. Families weighing the high school years may also want to ask about English II coursework and writing expectations. Overall, this is a school with impressive reading outcomes and a warm attendance culture, but early math and high-school English are the areas to watch.

Open Quote Great education with a great faculty & staff. Awesome school for those who are looking for a college-preparatory school that's not focused on common-core. Close Quote

Open Quote Very unprofessional principal and his administration staff(his daughter in law) I pulled my daughter out of this school. I have never seen a school run so poorly. They need a new principal to focus on the kids and communicate with parents not ignore emails Close Quote

Open Quote I had 2 of my children go there I’ve experienced false record keeping. Like all of the kids have never missed a day of school in their life the entire school other stuff I am not permitted to say just yet. Also the principal his son and daughter-in-law Need to be replaced they are running the school and very unprofessional like using foul language Towards me in front of my children. If the administration Would changed I would send my kids back to that school. But not after how they have treated my children and me. Close Quote
