The Franklin School of Innovation in Asheville, North Carolina, is a public school serving 717 students in grades 5–12 that operates as its own district rather than belonging to Buncombe County Schools or Asheville City Schools. It currently ranks 285th of 662 North Carolina high schools (57th percentile, 3 stars), down from a 70th-percentile showing in 2021–22, and sits as a clear step above Enka High and Erwin High, roughly in line with Asheville High, Roberson High, and Reynolds High, and well behind selective schools like Nesbitt Discovery Academy and the Early College.

Franklin's most distinctive strength shows up in special education outcomes. In the most recent reporting year, it ranked 28th of 372 schools statewide (92nd percentile) for special education students, following a 13th-place finish the prior year — one of the top schools in North Carolina for supporting students with disabilities. The school also has one of the lowest student–teacher ratios in the region at 12.9 to 1. On the positive side, chronic absenteeism has improved from 30.9% to 20.9% over two years and is now below the state average. Overall, Franklin is a mid-tier school with genuine strengths in literacy, small class sizes, and support for students with disabilities, but with clear challenges in math and on-time graduation.
