Open Quote My children have attended this school for the past 8 years, and they have gotten an excellent education. The class sizes are small, the teachers are dedicated, and the school has many different specials classes. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kestrel Heights School.

The data is misleading because it does not note that the school went from a K-12 school to a K-8 school after the 2016-17 school year. Instead, it appears as though the decline is a result of quality instead of a change in structure. Close Quote

Open Quote This school uses the Paideia principles. I have spoken with many parents and the methods are not working for certain students; that or the school doesn't know how to apply them. Students have left after being recruited for sports because their grades have suspiciously fallen practically overnight. This school needs to be investigated. Close Quote

Open Quote Great Students to Teachers ratio; parents are very involved; they have created small, caring teaching community which has given great learning experience to the kids; teachers become the students' friend and have great relationship, in addition they teach the older kids to take care of the younger ones and no Bulling allowed. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
