Reid Ross Classical High is a small public high school in Fayetteville, NC, serving 227 students in grades 9-12 as part of Cumberland County Schools. Nearly all of the school's students (98.7%) come from low-income households, and the school spends about $15,566 per student, reflecting its small size and high student need. Despite this challenging economic profile, Reid Ross has been climbing steadily since the pandemic: it currently ranks in the 66th percentile of North Carolina high schools with a three-star rating for 2025-2026, a strong recovery from a low of the 41st percentile in 2020-2021.

Academically, Reid Ross performs well above most schools with similar poverty levels on state end-of-course tests. In 2025-2026, 82% of students scored proficient in English II, 68.2% in Biology, and 83.7% in Math III - each exceeding district and state averages. Math I is the school's clear weak spot, at 43.4% proficiency, close to the state average of 42.1%.
