Sylva, North Carolina, is served by five public schools within Jackson County Public Schools—three high schools and two schools serving pre-kindergarten through 8th grade—with a combined enrollment of about 2,263 students, and notably, the city has no standalone middle school since middle grades are housed inside Fairview School and Scotts Creek School.
