Summary

Fairview Attendance Center is an elementary school in Golden, MS, serving 134 students in grades K-6. It is part of the Itawamba County School District, which is ranked 40 out of 130 districts in Mississippi and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger. Fairview Attendance Center has maintained a 3-star rating over the past several years.

One of Fairview Attendance Center's key strengths is its strong performance in mathematics, consistently outperforming the district and state averages in proficiency across all grade levels. For example, in 2024-2025, the school's 6th-grade mathematics proficiency rate was 76.4%, compared to 60.1% for the district and 52.9% for the state. However, the school's English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency rates are generally lower than the district and state averages, particularly in the upper elementary grades. In 2024-2025, the 5th-grade ELA proficiency rate was 37.5%, compared to 53.2% for the district and 55.9% for the state.

When compared to the nearby Dorsey Attendance Center and Itawamba Attendance Center, Fairview Attendance Center generally performs better in mathematics but lags behind in ELA proficiency, particularly in the upper grades. The school's high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 82.84% to 97.5% over the past few years, may be a contributing factor to its relatively lower ELA performance. Additionally, the school has experienced fluctuations in its chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 18.9% to 23.9%, which is an area of concern that the school and district should address to improve overall student learning and academic outcomes.

It is a small community, but everyone around this school will make you feel at home. Our children are very excited to learn at Fairview.
