North Forrest High School is a small combined middle and high school in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, serving 349 students in grades 7 through 12 as part of the Forrest County School District. Despite nearly 90% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, the school made one of the largest ranking jumps in the area in 2025-2026, climbing from 113th to 49th in Mississippi (78th percentile) and earning a 4-star rating.

The school's graduation rate is among the best anywhere nearby: at 95.8%, it is tied with Petal High School and well above the state average of 89.2%, following a perfect 100% rate the prior year. North Forrest also posts the lowest chronic absenteeism rate among all nearby schools at 18.3%, along with the region's smallest student-teacher ratio at 9.6 students per teacher — far below Oak Grove High School at 14.3 or Purvis High School at 12.5. Academically, the standout is Algebra I, where 80.3% of students scored proficient in 2025-2026 versus 66% statewide, and 84.5% the year before — the highest among comparable schools.
