Open Quote Actually I just move here, so Im a little aware of their system and how it works. I so upset and pissy off. Due to the fact one of the faculty was so rude and not professional at all. I arrive to the school on today ( 4/27/11) around 1:30 this evening. Due to the storm and the flood the buses had to re- routed. So I had to go and check them out, As Mrs. Byrd ask for my id and was checking for troy Jr folder I inform her I wasn't in his file. She replied in a attitude you can't check him out instead of telling to ask his mother could she fax permission to check him out. It didn't go that way. So I call my sister back, understanding she is at work and the roads was block due to flood, so she ask to speak to one of them, Mrs. Byrd ingore me and took the next parent that was in line. That was so rude and disrespectful so i quickly became upset and inform them that this was some bs. Quickly I was inform in a upbeat tone i will not use that type of language in that office or i would ask to leave, I replied over and over this is crazy as other parents was checking there children out I went and sat down, so as I their patienly waiting I guess the boss over them came to me and confronted me again about what I said. Which I felt she was picking and really trying my cool. Which Mrs. Byrd was very rude and childess to go that for with. A small situation could have been avoid, but everybody suppose to be so up beat and professional A lie in my eyesight. And i was inform to have her to call up there, even tho she gave me the wrong number to give her and the line stayed busy. I actually stayed in the office for aleast 20mins, As parent was checking there children out. Thats why I rated this school poor because of the unprofessional that goes on in that office. I will go further with this issue, I also has witness saying the same thing about Mrs. Byrd rude quick to have a attitude, and when is confronted she inform her boss what happen on one side not both side. Thanks in advance Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
