The DeSoto County School District in Mississippi is home to 8 traditional public high schools serving grades 9 through 12, with a combined enrollment of about 11,118 students and an average school size of roughly 1,390 students per campus.

The district is led by two elite schools that consistently rank among the best in Mississippi. Lewisburg High School is the top performer, ranking 5th statewide with a perfect 100% graduation rate, the district's highest proficiency in Algebra I (90.7%), English II (70.6%), and Biology (82.1%), and the lowest free/reduced lunch rate at 18.3%. Hernando High School is close behind, ranking 12th with a 97.1% graduation rate and the district's best U.S. History scores. Center Hill High School is a solid mid-tier option at 39th, while Olive Branch High School and DeSoto Central High School are the most improved, jumping to 47th and 44th respectively. Olive Branch stands out for posting strong Biology scores (81.9%) despite having a 51.6% free/reduced lunch rate.

At the lower end, Southaven High School (138th), Horn Lake High School (152nd), and Lake Cormorant High School (111th) face the biggest challenges, with English II proficiency particularly weak at Southaven (41.2%) and Horn Lake (35.3%).
