Open Quote My 16 year old was having a breakdown they called DFS on me for him being outta control. Instead of helping my son they have damaged not only my son but the respect I had for them when it came to helping my son. Now my son is a run away and has to repeat the same grade still with no mental help from the school nor DFS it’s like they don’t care. If I could give no stars I would they need to do way better they have resources but can’t seem to have them when they are needed the most. Close Quote

Open Quote I have came to this school from Raytown, and I must say, all of my prior education has no use in this school. The lessons, designed for their 11th and 12th graders, are on the same level of what I've learned in 7th grade. There is zero challenge.

And, the worst off, the students. In class we are lucky to even get through one single assignment because there's always backtalking, a fight or even the teacher doesn't care. Not all classrooms are like this, but most are. Even when an assignment is signed, none of them will actually complete it. Even given a week.

This school is a mainly African American school, and there's a lot of prejudice against whites. In my classes, I'm labeled as that white-skinned chick, or white girl for short. Because I came from a school where we did work, I always complete my assignments...and everyone copies them. I'm just saying, just because I'm white and does my work doesn't mean the answers are correct.

The most I've learned from this school so far is what weed smells like. Literally.

In all of my other schools, I never saw a fight, or even a food fight, until I came to this school.

And, the school itself, is trash. On mondays I have to go in late to one of my classes and there's never a chair. I'm one of those awkward kids, so I just sit on my knees to the desk and do my work. Half of the chairs in the school is broken, specially computer chairs, and the desks are falling a part.

I've just enrolled this year, and I'm already having problems. I don't go to school to make friends, I'm too shy, so I go to learn. But there's nothing to learn. I have nothing to get me motivated to go to school. And when I tried going back, after being gone for a week after a family's death, the bus driver completely forgotten about my bus spot. If you seen a girl standing on the edge of the road with a coat and a backpack, when it's freezing, wouldn't you remember that this is the girl you're suppose to pick up?

And so I've missed two more days and continuing at the moment. Each day, the thought of dropping out is increasing. My only other choice is taking school online, which is 400 per a class. If I had that kind of money, I would not be where I am now.

Once again, I came from a different school, but going to this school... I felt like I was in a complete different state.

For anyone who really wanted to go to school to learn, this is not the school for you. For someone who wants to talk all hour, then make yourself right at home. As for me, I'm still waiting for something to change my mind. Close Quote
