Even so, East outperforms Wayzata West in all three subjects despite serving more low-income students. Compared with nearby schools — Sandburg Middle School, Plymouth Middle, St. Louis Park Middle School, and Hopkins West Middle School — East's proficiency is far higher, though those schools serve much higher poverty rates, making the district-internal comparisons the fairest benchmark.
