Northland Secondary is a public school in the small rural town of Remer, Minnesota, serving 149 students in grades 6 through 12 as part of Northland Community Schools. It has a high poverty indicator — 71.81% of students qualified for free or reduced lunch in 2024–2025 — and a student–teacher ratio of 13.4, the highest among nearby schools with reported data. Northland outperforms its own district in every tested subject, and its overall state ranking (346 of 473, 27th percentile, 1 star in 2025–2026) is above the district's rank of 380 of 458 (17th percentile, 1 star), though both sit well below state averages.

Against nearby schools, Northland edges Deer River Secondary in science (18.4% vs 12.4%) and is close to Hill City Senior High in science (18.8%), but trails both in reading.
