Norse Area Learning Center

Norse Area Learning Center is a small alternative high school serving grades 7–12 with just 41 students, located in North Branch, Minnesota, in the Chisago County area and operated by North Branch Area Public Schools. It is one of three alternative programs sharing a single address at 38423 Lincoln Trail, alongside Distance Learning Academy Secondary (52 students) and Chisago County Schools' Life Work C (29 students) — together fewer than 125 students in one alternative-education hub, separate from the 791-student North Branch Area High School located about half a mile away. Its last on-file state ranking is from 2009–2010 (477th of 540, 12th percentile, 1 star), and heavy state suppression of its test data suggests it has not met minimum testing thresholds for recent public ranking — a signal of very small cohorts rather than a clean verdict on current performance.
