Chisago Lakes School District in Minnesota includes five schools — three elementary, one middle, and one high school — with 3,275 students enrolled. Chisago Lakes Elementary serves PK–1, Lakeside Elementary grades 2–5, Taylors Falls Elementary PK–5, Chisago Lakes Middle grades 6–8, and Chisago Lakes Senior High grades 9–12. The district ranks 162nd of 458 Minnesota districts, at the 65th percentile with 3 stars — but that average hides large differences between its schools.

Chisago Lakes Middle is the standout, ranking 37th of 546 middle schools at the 93rd percentile with 5 stars and improving three years running. It posts the district's strongest math (62.4%) and reading (62.8%) proficiency — well above state averages of 44.9% and 48.6% — despite having the district's highest free/reduced-lunch rate (24.93%). Chisago Lakes Senior High is more mixed: its graduation rate (93.7%) and dropout rate (1.9%) beat the state, but 11th-grade math (29.1%), 10th-grade reading (34.8%) and science (32.7%) trail state benchmarks, and its rank slid to the 45th percentile, 2 stars. Lakeside Elementary sits at the 57th percentile, 3 stars, above state in math and reading but declining. Taylors Falls Elementary is at the 43rd percentile, 2 stars, with 5th-grade reading (66.7%) a bright spot.

Science is uneven: Taylors Falls posts 16.7% overall, and the middle school's all-grade science figure looks low even though its 8th-grade result (21.9% vs. 16.7% statewide) is above the state. Class size does not simply explain results — Lakeside has the highest student-teacher ratio (17.4) yet outperforms Taylors Falls, which has the lowest (11.2). Chisago Lakes Elementary has no test or rank data because it serves PK–1 only. The district still beats the state in math and reading, but its math lead narrowed from 11.4 to 6.9 points.
