Lincoln Middle School is a 647-student school serving grades 4–7 in the Hibbing Public School District on Minnesota's Iron Range, and for 2025–2026 it ranks #191 of 546 ranked Minnesota middle schools — the 65th percentile, or 3 stars — placing it comfortably above the state median.

Reading is the school's clearest strength at 51.7% proficient, above both the district (47.5%) and the state (48.6%). Science is also a bright spot: 29.3% proficient beats the district and the 25.5% state mark. Parents of students with disabilities should take note — this is the school's standout result, ranking in the top quarter of the state (78th percentile, 4 stars). Staffing has thinned at the same time, with the student–teacher ratio rising from 16.2 to 18.1 (roughly 40 teachers down to about 36). Science scores from before 2024–25 aren't comparable to current ones because the state assessment changed.
