Riverview Elementary has consistently ranked in the bottom half of Minnesota elementary schools, with performance on state assessments generally below the state and district averages in both math and reading. The school has also seen a significant increase in its free and reduced lunch rates, from 9.91% in 2021-2022 to 19.15% in 2023-2024, indicating a growing population of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Open Quote Everything about this school is out of control. Teachers are allowed to yell, argue, point fingers, and scare these children. The office staff is disgustingly rude! Recess is a joke, the supervision of these children is minimal at best. Going to them with a concern will start with understanding and leave you feeling blown off. Close Quote

Open Quote The current rating for Riverview is misleading. The staff are amazing! My son is challenged with a rigorous curriculum. The school promotes a positive culture and all events are well attended. I believe Riverview is a wonderful place for children to grow, learn and be successful. Close Quote
