Summary:

The Braham Public School District in Minnesota serves roughly 783 students across two schools: Braham Elementary, which covers prekindergarten through 6th grade with 429 students, and Braham Area Secondary, which serves grades 7 through 12 with 354 students. There is no standalone middle school. The Braham Public School District ranks 173rd out of 458 Minnesota districts — the 62nd percentile — and both schools earned 3 stars in 2025–2026.

Braham Elementary is the district's academic bright spot in math and reading. In 2025–2026, 58.9% of its students were proficient in math, above the district's 48.0% and the state's 44.9%; reading was 52.4%, also above both. Third- and fourth-grade math were especially strong at 72.3% each, comfortably above state averages. Science is the weak spot: only 15.3% of elementary students were proficient, compared with 25.5% statewide, and 5th grade science was likewise 15.3% against 25.9% statewide. Fifth-grade reading also lagged, at 42.4% versus 54.5% statewide.

Braham Area Secondary stands out for getting students to graduation: 93.7% graduate, compared with 84.9% statewide, and the dropout rate is 4.1% versus 4.2%. Its science End-of-Course result, 37.7%, is above the state's 35.0%. Math, however, is a major concern — 31.7% proficiency against 44.9% statewide, with 8th grade at 29.1% versus 42.3% and 11th grade at 22.7% versus 35.3%. Reading was 44.1%, slightly below state. Classes are larger here, with a student-teacher ratio of 19.9 compared with 14.5 at the elementary school. Overall, the clearest priorities appear to be elementary science and secondary math.
