Success Academy is a small Minnesota district with two K–5 elementary schools: Success Academy St. Cloud Elementary (140 students) and Success Academy Bloomington Elementary (117 students), for 257 students combined. The district itself ranks 413th of 458 Minnesota districts (10th percentile, 1 star). Both schools serve high-poverty communities — 98.57% of St. Cloud students and 92.31% of Bloomington students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Bloomington is the clear standout and the only school here showing improvement. It ranks 687th of 869 schools (21st percentile) and its 3rd grade scored above the state average: 68.8% proficient in math versus 57.9% statewide, and 58.8% in reading versus 46.8%. It also beats its own district in math (31.6% vs. 17.8%) and reading (31% vs. 25.6%). St. Cloud is heading the opposite way — 834th of 869 (4th percentile), the only 0-star rating in the set, and below its district in every 2025‑26 subject (math 13.3%, reading 15%, science 0%). Just one year earlier the two schools were essentially tied at 11th and 12th percentile.
Both schools share serious weaknesses. Each posted 0% science proficiency, about 25 points below the state, and 5th grade is a district-wide cliff — district 5th grade math is only 2.6%. Class sizes differ sharply: Bloomington's student-teacher ratio is 10.8 versus St. Cloud's 17.5. Because each grade holds only about 17–23 students, one student can shift a grade-level score by 4–6 points, so grade-level results should be read with caution.
