RTR Public Schools is a small Minnesota district with two schools serving roughly 646 students from prekindergarten through 12th grade: RTR Elementary School (grades PK–5, 266 students) and RTR Secondary School (grades 6–12, 380 students), which also covers the middle grades. Reading is the clearest concern: All-Grades reading is 40.7% against the state's 48.6%, with 3rd grade at 34% (state 46.8%) and 4th grade at 31.1% (state 48.8%). Fifth-grade reading is a bright exception at 60% (state 54.5%), and All-Grades math is 45.9%, above the state's 44.9%. The elementary school also has a lower student-teacher ratio, 10.4 versus 14.3, and both schools serve similar free/reduced-lunch populations (about 35–37%).
