Summary:

Endeavour Elementary and Middle School is a public school located in Ray, Michigan, serving 499 students in grades K-8. The school is part of the New Haven Community Schools district, which is ranked 314 out of 610 districts in Michigan and has a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Endeavour generally outperforms the New Haven Community Schools district and the state of Michigan in M-Step/English Language Arts and M-Step/Math proficiency rates across most grade levels, suggesting the school is providing effective instruction and support for its students. However, the school has experienced a significant increase in chronic absenteeism, rising from 16.4% in 2018-2019 to 27.6% in 2022-2023, which is higher than the state average. Endeavour also has a relatively high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 37.63% to 46.29% over the past few years, indicating it serves a relatively economically disadvantaged population that may require additional resources and support.

Endeavour's racial makeup, with a higher percentage of White students (72.55%) compared to the nearby schools, which tend to have more diverse student populations, may present both opportunities and challenges in terms of fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment. The school's spending per student has increased from $7,613 in 2019-2020 to $9,857 in 2022-2023, which is higher than the state average, suggesting the school is investing more resources in its educational programs, which could be contributing to its stronger academic performance.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote As a military family we have moved around a lot. Endeavor middle school is one of the nicest schools we have ever used, in a district that is growing by leaps and bounds, and they are keeping up with the growth and the times. This school has a doctor for a principal, award winning technology, experience friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. Your kids will have a large selection of electives to choose from, after school activities. This place has it all. Go drive by, the building itself is amazing! Safe, diverse, clubs, affordable growing area, family atmosphere, we just love it, and I hope we can stay a long time! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
