Eastpointe Community Schools serves approximately 7 schools in a suburban Detroit community, including four elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-7), and two high schools (8-12 and 6-12), all of which face significant academic and attendance challenges compared to state averages.

For parents, the most important takeaway is that no school in this district performs at state averages, but there are notable differences between schools. Bellview Elementary School stands out as the relative academic bright spot, with 4th-grade English Language Arts proficiency at 21.4%—nearly double the district average of 11.8% and the highest single-grade score in any subject across all elementary schools. In contrast, Forest Park Elementary School and Pleasantview Elementary School show proficiency rates in the single digits for most subjects. While early-grade ELA scores at Bellview and Pleasantview offer a glimmer of hope, these gains are not sustained into later grades, suggesting systemic challenges that require comprehensive, community-wide solutions rather than isolated school-level fixes.
