Summary

Munger Hill is an elementary school located in Westfield, Massachusetts, serving grades PK-4 with a total enrollment of 328 students. The school is part of the Westfield school district, which is ranked 254 out of 348 districts in Massachusetts and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Munger Hill consistently performs below the Westfield district and Massachusetts state averages in MCAS Next Generation English Language Arts and Mathematics assessments across all grades. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, Munger Hill's proficiency rates were 29.13% in ELA and 26.77% in Math, compared to Westfield's 34.54% in ELA and 34.42% in Math, and the state's 41.53% in ELA and 40.74% in Math. Munger Hill's performance has been declining over the years, with its statewide ranking dropping from 350 out of 938 elementary schools in 2016-2017 to 688 out of 906 in 2024-2025.

Munger Hill's performance is significantly lower than that of nearby schools in the Westfield district, such as Southampton Road and Paper Mill, which have higher MCAS proficiency rates and better statewide rankings. This suggests that the challenges faced by Munger Hill may be specific to the school and not necessarily reflective of the broader Westfield district. The school's declining performance, low proficiency rates, and underperforming student subgroups highlight the need for targeted interventions and support to improve student outcomes.

Open Quote My ADHD child developed a bruise from home, and instead of calling the parents to ask questions, this school called children service's! Very unprofessional and will not be sending my child here next year! This is just one reason why they are rated 3 out of 10 in local schools! Poor judgement by the teachers. Very disgusted on how this was handled! Close Quote
