Westfield, Massachusetts has 8 schools serving students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 — four elementary schools (PK–4), two middle schools (grades 5–6 and 7–8), and two high schools (grades 9–12) — all part of the Westfield district, which enrolls 4,238 students and is ranked 241 of 351 in the state (31st percentile, 2 stars). Two elementary schools stand out. Southampton Road and Highland are the only current 3-star schools. Southampton Road ranks 428 of 899 (52nd percentile) and beats state averages in ELA (40.15%) and math (46.67%). Highland is the most improved school in the city, climbing from 37th to 60th percentile, with the best elementary math results at 55.66%. At the high school level, Westfield High is the largest school (1,034 students) and posts 10th-grade ELA of 48.48%, above the state's 45.48%. At the other end, Munger Hill is the only 1-star school, ranking 705 of 899 (22nd percentile), with ELA at 27.72% and math at 26.00%. Westfield Middle slipped from 3 stars to 2, with science at 26.91%, compared to 42.51% at Westfield Intermediate. Elementary math varies by nearly 30 points between schools, and Paper Mill sits in the middle with the lowest spending.
