On 2025–2026 MCAS Next Generation tests, proficiency was 21.54% in English language arts, 22.45% in math, and 23.46% in science — roughly 18 points below the state in every core subject, and slightly below the district in ELA and science.

Compared with nearby schools, Great Falls looks like the lower-performing half of the region. Greenfield Middle, only 2.79 miles away, scored higher in ELA (27.72% vs. 21.54%) and science (30.48% vs. 23.46%), while Great Falls is slightly ahead in math. Second, 2025–2026 was a genuine improvement year — ELA rose from 17.79% to 21.54%, math from 17.56% to 22.45%, science from 18.31% to 23.46%, and civics from 17.14% to 30.38% — and subgroup results for special education students (44th percentile) and low-income students improved.
