Summary

Match Charter Public School is a PK–12 charter school at 215 Forest Hills St in Boston's Jamaica Plain area that enrolls 1,189 students and operates as its own district, Match Charter Public School (District), making it larger than several nearby charters, including Codman Academy Charter Public School, Prospect Hill Academy Charter School, and Neighborhood House Charter School. Its results are mixed: graduation is near the Boston district average, but MCAS proficiency is generally about half the state average.

In 2025-26, 20.32% of Match students were proficient in ELA, 22.99% in math, and 22.35% in science — roughly 18 to 20 points below the state in each subject and below the Boston district reference (29.41% ELA, 29.12% math, 24.94% science). Among nearby charters, Match is stronger than Codman Academy and Neighborhood House in all three subjects, roughly even with Prospect Hill, and well behind Brooke Charter School and Pioneer Charter School of Science, which post proficiency rates 30 to 50 points higher in some subjects.

Results vary sharply by grade. Tenth-grade math (40.98%) is only 2.75 points below the state, and 5th-grade science (36.56%) beats the Boston district reference, but middle school is weak: 8th-grade ELA 13.48%, math 14.77%, science 6.98%, and civics 13.10%, with Biology end-of-course at 5.63%. Graduation was above 90% from 2020-21 through 2023-24 but fell to 82.5% in 2024-25, while dropout rose to 7.9% — still below the Boston district's 8.8%. Match reported $24,036 per student in 2020-21, more than Brooke, Pioneer, Neighborhood House, and Prospect Hill. Free/reduced-lunch data are not reported here, so these gaps should not be attributed to school performance alone.
