The Wakefield district serves about 3,254 students across six schools: four elementary schools (Woodville, Dolbeare, Greenwood, and Walton, serving pre-K through grade 4), one middle school (Galvin Middle School, grades 5–8, with 1,056 students), and one high school (Wakefield Memorial High, grades 9–12, with 854 students). There are no alternative schools. The district ranks 53rd of 351 in Massachusetts, at the 85th percentile with 4 stars. Notably, every school and every reported subject in the district outperforms the state in 2025–26, and free/reduced-lunch percentages are blank for all schools, so income-based comparisons cannot be made.
Two elementary schools stand out. Walton is the breakout math performer: 5 stars, 94th percentile (50 of 899 elementary schools), with all-grade math at 79.01% and 3rd-grade math at 81.08% — both far above the district and state. Its ELA rose 14.30 points and math 18.57 points in a year. Greenwood is the other 5-star school, leading the district in ELA at 65.56% all grades and 75.56% in 3rd grade, improving to the 90th percentile. Elementary results still vary widely: all-grade ELA spans 19.22 points from Dolbeare's 46.34% to Greenwood's 65.56%, and math spans 22.63 points. Dolbeare has strong math (60.37%) but the district's lowest ELA, and both Dolbeare and Woodville declined year over year. Galvin Middle School is solid at the 79th percentile, though 8th-grade math (47.81%) and civics (down 6.94 points) are weaker spots. High school 10th-grade science fell from 67.98% to 59.61%, and the reported Physics value of 0 for 2024–25 is a major anomaly that should not be read as a normal zero.
