Brookline is home to 8 public elementary schools, nearly all of which actually serve students from PK/K through grade 8, and together they enroll 4,699 students. The Brookline district ranks 16th of 351 in Massachusetts, at the 95th percentile with 5 stars. Enrollment ranges from 418 students at Roland Hayes to 857 at Florida Ruffin Ridley School, with an average of about 587. Every one of these schools ranks at or above the 88th percentile statewide, and all exceed state averages by wide margins in every reported subject.

Lawrence is the clearest overall leader: 29th of 899 schools (97th percentile, 5 stars), the highest all-grade ELA (73.97%) and Math (80.05%) in the group, and the top 2024–2025 Civics score (86.67%). Its 2025–2026 Science (71.22%) sits slightly below the district's 71.51% and below its own prior-year 79.25%. Pierce leads in 2025–2026 Science (75.89%) and Civics (84.62%) while spending the least per student ($23,559). Michael Driscoll posts the highest all-grade Math (76.73%) and 8th-grade Math (92.59%), yet its rank slipped to 93rd and 4 stars. Edith C Baker has been steady (83rd, 80th, 63rd; 5 stars each year).

Across the group, Civics showed the biggest average gain (74.18% to 79.61%), followed by Science (69.31% to 71.94%) and Math (71.59% to 73.11%), while ELA slipped slightly (70.11% to 69.05%). John D Runkle (126th to 69th) and Florida Ruffin Ridley School (140th to 67th since 2023–2024) improved most. Grade-level results vary widely within schools, and staffing or spending levels do not track simply with outcomes — William H Lincoln spends the most per student ($25,720) yet its Science (68.63%) is below the district. Free/reduced-lunch percentages are blank for all eight schools, so economic-disadvantage comparisons are not possible.
