Schools in zip code 40165 include 11 schools—four elementary, four middle, and three high schools, including Bullitt Alternative Center—serving students from elementary through high school in the Bullitt County district. Across reported 2025–2026 proficiency results, school averages were 34%, compared with 43% for matched state results, a 9-point gap; the average shortfall ranged from 7 points in mathematics to 12 in social studies. The clearest takeaway is that area averages hide substantial differences by school and grade: same-grade results span 30 points in elementary reading and 26 points in middle-school writing.

Freedom Elementary School and Cedar Grove Elementary stand out among elementary schools: Freedom reached 54% in 3rd-grade reading and 45% in 4th-grade mathematics, while Cedar Grove posted 54% in 4th-grade reading and 40% in 4th-grade science, equal to the state. Bernheim Middle School leads many middle-school results, including 56% in 6th-grade reading and 51% in 8th-grade writing. Lower reported results include Roby Elementary School at 19% in 4th-grade mathematics and Zoneton Middle School at 15% in 7th-grade mathematics. Reported free/reduced lunch eligible shares in 2024–2025 were 46% at Freedom, 53% at Bernheim, 68% at Zoneton, 57% at Bullitt Central, and 55% at North Bullitt—context that does not explain their differing results. Families comparing schools may want to weigh each school’s grade-specific results and recent direction rather than relying on a single area average or ranking.
