Fulton County

The three public schools in Fulton County serve grades PK–12 and enroll 611 students across elementary, middle and high school. Their clearest shared takeaway is that results vary sharply by subject and school: writing is a standout in the secondary grades, but reading is below state results at all three schools, and elementary writing is especially weak.

Fulton County High School and Fulton County Middle School stand out in writing: high-school proficiency was 66%, 19 points above the state, and middle-school proficiency was 63%, 15 points above. At the other end, Fulton County Elementary writing was 9%, 26 points below the state; middle-school reading was 29%, 23 points below its benchmark. Elementary science was a relative bright spot, at 43% versus 40% statewide. SchoolDigger’s 2025–26 rankings put High School highest among the three, at the 34th percentile, followed by Elementary at the 24th and Middle School at the 17th.

Recent matched-test results show Elementary moving closer to state results, while Middle and High moved farther away: Elementary’s average gap improved by 4 points from 2024–25 to 2025–26, while Middle’s worsened by 3 points and High’s shifted 7 points from above to below the state. High School nevertheless had strong completion outcomes: its graduation rate rounded to 98%, versus 94% statewide, and its dropout rate was 0%, versus 1%. Its SchoolDigger ranking fell from the 67th to the 34th percentile. Student–teacher ratios were 11.2 at High, 13.9 at Elementary and 17.5 at Middle; free/reduced lunch eligible figures for 2024–25 were 64% at High, 75% at Elementary and 72% at Middle. These measures provide context, not explanations for the differences in results.
