Summary:
Fairview Independent serves 528 students in two schools: Fairview Elementary School (PK–6) and Fairview High School (grades 7–12). Because the schools serve different grade spans, their averages are not direct school-to-school rankings; suppressed test values are unknown and excluded. Most importantly, all 21 exact proficiency results for 2025–2026 were below their matching state benchmarks: elementary averaged 35% versus 48% statewide, a 13-point gap, while high school averaged 28% versus 40%, a 12-point gap.
Each school has some results closer to the state and others with larger gaps. Elementary’s closest results were grade 6 math, 40% versus 42% statewide (2 points below), and reading, 50% versus 54% (4 points below); its largest gap was grade 5 reading, 17% versus 51% (34 points below). High school was closest in grade 11 science, 22% versus 23% (1 point below), and furthest behind in grade 8 editing and mechanics, 18% versus 42% (24 points below). SchoolDigger’s latest rankings place elementary at the 19th percentile and high school at the 23rd, but those rankings do not make either school a clear academic leader over the other.
Results moved slightly closer to state performance overall: across 18 tests reported in both years, the average gap narrowed by about 1 point, from 14.3 points below the state in 2024–2025 to 13.6 points below in 2025–2026. Changes varied by test: elementary grade 4 math rose from 19% to 32%, while grade 5 reading fell from 31% to 17%; high school grade 8 reading rose from 24% to 33%, while writing fell from 40% to 28%. SchoolDigger rankings also tell a mixed story: elementary moved from the 29th to 19th percentile over three years, while high school rose from the 19th to 23rd percentile this year after a 69th-percentile ranking in 2023–2024. High school’s 100% graduation rate and 0% dropout rate are strong results, alongside higher chronic absenteeism: 38% versus 24% statewide. In 2024–2025, both schools had similar student–teacher ratios (12.5 at elementary and 11.8 at high school) and both reported 91% free/reduced lunch eligible.
