Summary:

Lancaster, Kentucky, has four schools serving elementary, middle and high school grades: two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The newest results show the elementary schools generally ahead of state results, while Garrard County High School is above state results in reading and math and Garrard Middle School is below in nearly all its reported tests. The biggest overall concern is Garrard Middle: it trailed the state in 9 of 10 latest grade-and-subject comparisons.

Camp Dick Robinson Elementary School has the strongest average results relative to the state, at 16 points above across its latest comparisons; Lancaster Elementary School averaged 14 points above. Lancaster is the clear math standout between the elementary schools, leading Camp Dick Robinson by 24 points in grade 3, 23 in grade 4 and 20 in grade 5. Camp Dick Robinson, though, led grade 5 writing 75% to 20%, and editing and mechanics 59% to 39%. Garrard High averaged 2 points above the state, with grade 10 reading 12 points above and math 10 above; Garrard Middle averaged 6 points below, with grade 6 math its only result above the state.

SchoolDigger rankings reflect contrasting trajectories: Lancaster rose 34 percentile points from 2023–2024 to 2025–2026, and Garrard High rose 23, while Garrard Middle fell 16 and Camp Dick Robinson slipped 1. Average test scores increased 6 points at Lancaster and 2 at Garrard High, but declined 4 at Garrard Middle and 2 at Camp Dick Robinson. The 2024–2025 free/reduced lunch eligible figures were 79% at Lancaster, 59% at Camp Dick Robinson, 61% at Garrard Middle and 57% at Garrard High; these are context, not an explanation of results. Reported student-teacher ratios ranged from 13.2 at Garrard Middle to 15.9 at Camp Dick Robinson.
