Summary:

Three elementary schools in ZIP code 66205 serve pre-K through grade 6: Roesland Elementary, Highlands Elementary and Westwood View Elementary. In 2025–26, every school scored above the state proficiency rate in English language arts (ELA), math and science. But results vary considerably by school: the gap between the highest and lowest school was 32 percentage points in ELA, 35 in math and 46 in science. The most important takeaway is that strong area-wide results mask substantial differences from one school to another.

Highlands improved modestly across all three subjects. SchoolDigger ranked Westwood View first statewide in 2025–26 and Highlands fifth, compared with Roesland at 165th; Roesland’s rank also fell from 61st three years earlier. School context differs too: Highlands has a 12.9 student–teacher ratio, compared with 15.5 at Westwood View, while reported free/reduced-lunch rates range from 7% at Westwood View to 45% at Roesland. These measures describe differences among schools but do not explain why their scores vary.
