Summary

Northview Elementary is a public elementary school in Manhattan, Kansas, serving 403 students in grades K-5. It is part of the Manhattan-Ogden school district, which is ranked 77 out of 264 districts in the state.

Northview Elementary has consistently underperformed compared to the district and state averages in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science proficiency. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, Northview's English Language Arts proficiency rate was 40.1%, compared to 52.76% for the district and 44.47% for the state. The school has also struggled to support the academic achievement of certain student subgroups, such as White students and students with disabilities. However, Northview's Hispanic students performed relatively better, ranking 124 out of 262 schools in the state in English Language Arts.

Northview Elementary's academic performance lags behind many of the nearby schools in the Manhattan-Ogden district, such as Amanda Arnold Elementary and Marlatt Elementary, which consistently outperform Northview. However, Northview performs better than some other nearby schools, such as Lee Elementary and Woodrow Wilson Elementary. The school's high percentage of students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds and higher chronic absenteeism rates may be contributing factors to its relatively lower academic performance.

Open Quote We moved into this school district half-way through the school year. I was really concerned about the transition, but it was flawless. My daughter has had AMAZING 3rd and 4th grade teachers who have been heavily invested in her education. Her teacher this year noticed she was getting lazy in a certain area that the teacher knew she could do better in. The teacher found a very positive and effective way to motivate her and she is now excelling. My daughter always loathed PE at her two previous schools, but here she actually likes it (most of the time, haha!) I even find it interesting, I always find myself asking what they are doing in PE because it sounds so much better than anything I ever had in school! Overall very impressed with this school.
