Andale has two schools: Andale Elementary-Middle, serving pre-K through grade 8, and Andale High, serving grades 9–12. The clearest overall academic standout is Elementary-Middle: its 2025–26 all-grades proficiency rates were well above Kansas’s in ELA, math and science, while High was only modestly above the state in ELA and math and below it in science.

Elementary-Middle led the two schools in all-grades results: 65% proficient in ELA, 61% in math and 45% in science, compared with 47%, 46% and 35% at High—gaps of 18, 15 and 10 percentage points. Against state rates, Elementary-Middle was ahead by 19 points in ELA, 20 in math and 7 in science; High was ahead by 1 point in ELA and 5 in math, but 4 points below in science. Elementary-Middle’s ELA proficiency rose by 7 points, while High’s fell by 6; math slipped slightly at Elementary-Middle and fell by 11 points at High, narrowing the schools’ margins over Kansas. Attendance and graduation offer a positive counterpoint: chronic absenteeism was 6% at Elementary-Middle and 4% at High, versus 18% statewide, and High’s graduation rate was 97.9%, compared with 89.5% statewide. The schools also differ in context: Elementary-Middle enrolled 447 students versus 381 at High, had a student–teacher ratio of 17.1 versus 13, and reported free/reduced-lunch rates of 15% versus 17%.
