Rockport-Ohio Elementary School is a PK–5 school at 200 S 6th St in Rockport, Indiana — a small Ohio River town in the southwestern corner of the state — serving 317 students as the larger of the two elementary schools in the South Spencer County School Corp.

Academically, the school has been sliding for years. In 2025–26, 37.59% of students were proficient in ELA, 24.06% in math, and 16.67% in science — the lowest math and science results of any nearby school compared, and the lowest overall standing in that group at the 31st percentile with 2 stars. It peaked at the 74th percentile in 2020–21 and has fallen 43 percentile points since; math is down 26 points over four years and science down 35. Fourth grade is the sharpest concern, with just 13.89% proficient in math and 16.67% in science, far below both district and state. The most telling comparison is inside the district: Luce Elementary School, 7.4 miles away under the same administration and curriculum, posts 65.6% ELA, 66.7% math, and 73.1% science.
