South Spencer County School Corp is a small Indiana district with four schools—two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school—serving students from prekindergarten through 12th grade, with 1,065 students in total. The district is rated 4 stars and ranks 75th of 374 Indiana districts (80th percentile) in 2025–26, but that overall rating hides a wide range. Luce Elementary School is the standout: a 5-star school in the 92nd percentile. South Spencer Middle School and South Spencer High School are both 4-star schools, in the 85th and 80th percentiles, while Rockport-Ohio Elementary School is rated 2 stars and sits in the 31st percentile.

Academically, Luce Elementary leads with 2025–26 all-grade proficiency of 65.59% in ELA, 66.67% in math, and 73.08% in science, plus the district’s lowest chronic absenteeism at 6.6%.
