School sizes vary enormously, from 149 students at Rise Up Academy at Eggleston to 1,966 at Adams High School, with a median of about 431 students.

Standout schools show what is possible here. LaSalle Academy, a middle school of 461 students, ranks 35th of 486 (93rd percentile, 5 stars), with 2025-2026 ILEARN proficiency of 70.75% in English language arts, 51.89% in math, and 59.26% in science — far above district averages of 19.98%, 18.46%, and 20.98%. Swanson Traditional School posts the highest elementary/middle math proficiency in the listing at 65.78%, plus 54.79% ELA.
