MSD North Posey County Schools is a four-school Indiana district serving K-12 students, with about 1,455 students across two elementary schools, one junior high, and one high school, and it ranks #18 of 374 Indiana districts with 5 stars. Enrollment is led by North Posey High School (453), followed by South Terrace Elementary (404), North Elementary School (364), and North Posey Junior High School (234). All four schools are rated 4 or 5 stars in 2025-26, and every school has chronic absenteeism below Indiana’s 16.7%.

For families choosing an elementary, South Terrace Elementary is the academic standout: #39 of 1,015 elementary schools, 96th percentile, 5 stars, with all-grade ILEARN math at 78.77%, ELA at 70.75%, and science at 62.07%. Its grade-level math is exceptional, including 3rd grade math at 90.91% and 6th grade math at 83.02%, while chronic absenteeism is 4.9%. It also has the district’s lowest per-student spending ($9,075) and lowest free/reduced-lunch rate (27.97%).
