The School City of Mishawaka district in Indiana includes two schools serving high school grades: Mishawaka High School, which serves grades 9–12 with 1,327 students, and Cavemen Academy of Virtual Excellence, a virtual school serving grades 6–12 with 162 students. The district as a whole ranks 272 of 374 in Indiana, in the 27th percentile with 1 star, so both schools operate within a district whose overall standing is low.

Mishawaka High School is the larger and relatively stronger school. Its 2024–2025 graduation rate is 88.7%, above the district's 83.1% and close to the state's 89.7%. On 2025–2026 tests it edges out the district in Biology (32.01% vs 31.7%), SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing (38.83% vs 38.05%), and SAT Math (16.49% vs 15.41%), though it trails the state in both SAT subjects (51.9% and 25.6%). It ranks 285 of 415, in the 31st percentile with 2 stars. Cavemen Academy of Virtual Excellence reports much lower results: a 51.9% graduation rate, 31.2 points below the district; ILEARN English Language Arts All Grades at 16.67%; ILEARN Math All Grades at 4.17%; 8th grade ILEARN Math at 0%; and SAT Math at 3.7%. It ranks 353 of 415, in the 15th percentile with 1 star.

Two concerns stand out. Mishawaka High School's chronic absenteeism is 42.8%, versus 28.6% districtwide and 16.7% statewide.
