Crawford County Community School Corp is a small southern Indiana district serving about 1,235 students across six schools: three elementary schools (PK–5), one middle school (6–8), and two high schools — a traditional 9–12 school and a 6–12 virtual academy. Overall the district earns 2 stars and ranks 198th of 374 Indiana districts, but that single rating hides enormous differences between its schools, from two 4-star standouts to a 0-star virtual academy.

Two schools are clear bright spots. East Crawford Elementary School is 4-star and ranks in the 81st percentile, with proficiency well above district averages (53.77% ELA, 66.04% math, 60.47% science) and 4th-grade math at 81.4% versus 52% statewide. Crawford County Middle School is also 4-star (77th percentile), with 8th-grade math proficiency of 65.26% against 34.2% statewide. At the high school level, Crawford County High School posts a 93.3% graduation rate, above the district's 83.1% and the state's 89.7%.

Other schools struggle more. West Crawford Elementary School (2 stars, 32nd percentile) and South Crawford Elementary School (1 star, 21st percentile) have slipped from earlier rankings, with all-grade ELA of just 18.57% and 23.17%. Crawford County Virtual Academy has 0 stars, a 29.4% graduation rate, and reported 2024–25 SAT results of 12.5% ERW and 0% math; many of its 2025–26 test values are suppressed.
